What reviewers say about the PS5 version
Push Square (professional review, August 18, 2026): "Mortal Shell 2 is an expanded soulslike sequel that packs a lot into a focused experience. It took me just 30 hours to roll credits, but across that time I explored multiple biomes, fought dozens of bosses, and delved into an abundance of dungeons." The review identifies the playable godling as Lavendar, and concludes "overall this is a brilliant new addition to the genre and, by all accounts, a far improved sequel."
Kotaku (professional review, August 18, 2026, no score system): "You should play Mortal Shell II because it might... be conjuring something from a nether dimension with too many consonants to feasibly pronounce. The reward for the experience is the experience itself..." Push Square's numeric score was not captured in our research, so none is listed here.
